Finished my first year of college successfully. All A's except two classes and I was rocking out WAY too hard on the weekends-- that's quite enough of that. I'm all ready for another year, but it's summer.

Oh, yay!! Go you! That's awesome work, Daniel. Congrats.

Sigh. I miss summer. It's so cold here, I've been sleeping in socks (not normal for Melbourne). I mean, cold is relative. It's not like we're going to get snow or anything. But Antarctic air makes it a bit chilly.

I've been keeping busy with work and writing. I've been trying to read more. My reading really dropped off after I joined AW, so I've been making a conscious effort to log off more, and use the time for books.

Oooooo, I'm reading slower now. I've read nearly 1000 books, so I figured I should slow down and appreciate the scenery. No need for a manic rush towards an imaginary finish line, ahahahaha!

Between books today. Doing some beta reading, caught up on some YAs, reread a couple of favourites. I forgot how much reading helps me to write.

I haven't read in a while. I'm in brain-splat mode. You know, when the ol' brain doesn't want to do anything.

I'm sort of in that mode myself, but mine is all stress related. Work has been a bear this month. I have one more week until vacation. I'm just hoping I survive it.

It's going to be 114F here today. I have no AC at the moment but a crapton of fans. Just wanted to say hi to everyone before I melt.

Damn, lefty, that's hot. Can you go old-school and put a bowl of ice cubes in front of the fan?

LadyV, have you made it to vacation time yet??

I am! I have tupperware of ice in the freezer that I'll put in front of the fans this afternoon. 'Tis now 92. It's say it will pop up to 97 in the next hour. And what really sucks is the Air Quality Index is in yellow zone, where is has been for a couple of weeks. So on top of melting, my eyeballs burn and I'm full of mucus.

PS: I love saline solution.

Heh, it's winter down here and I've been sleeping in socks for the last two weeks and waking with an ice-block nose, so ... yes, it's coolish where I am.

Aaand looking at the radar, a storm's about to roll in. Given it's also 2am, that's probably a sign for me to backup my words and shut everything down for the day.

Try stay cool, lefty. (Physically. You're always cool attitudinally. ) Lots of quick, cold showers. Damp a towel with cold water and use it as a 'blanket'. Put a small one round the back of your neck (preferably after soaking in the fridge for a while).

It is cool there. We are at the extremes of each other. I will need to shut everything down soonish too (to be safe from the heat).

Good afternoon, reppers!

I'm back from vacation. I had a lot of fun. I'm more of an adventurer. I don't mind relaxing at the beach or pool, but I get bored pretty quickly. Luckily, we did all sorts of things to keep me busy.

I'm poppin' in to say hi. The heat has been so...hot that I have been keepin' all my electronics off (for the most part). But hello everybody!

In K-town, it is disgustingly hot. All the grass is burnt and dying.

Yay! People!

I'll happily take some of your heat (not all of it, just some) if you want to send it my way. Very cold down here atm, and the wind's been awful. Poor Mr BF had to fly home from Brisbane last night and it was horribly turbulent for him. (The gusts were so strong yesterday, a massive crane got blown backwards leading to hundreds of people being evacuated from their homes in case it toppled. They're still trying to figure out how to get the thing down).

You may have it BF. It was 109 today and tomorrow is 112. BUT, I got the AC fixed today. Hallelujah! Just in time for the fire 6 miles away. (WTF?) Went from 5 acres to 90 in an hour. Smokey outside and raining ash. BUT it was all brush fire, no structures or peep hurt and it's under control.

In other news, I just ate a giant spinach salad.

Ugh, that is hot. Hooray for your ac. Ours wasn't working for a while over summer in similar temps, and it's torturous.

Yoiks for the fire. I'm glad it's under control now.

Anything else in your salad, or just spinach?

A little bit of hard boiled egg and bacon. My kitty thought it should just be bacon, nothing else.
