Yep, it's totally annoying. I have never been able to understand why anyone would set their a/c to 'arctic'. All you really should do is take the worst of the heat out of the building, so the heat doesn't hit you like a sledgehammer when you step outside the door.

How are things down in Melbourne? Did you get a lot accomplished during the AW drought?

I needed some way to procrastinate with AW down.

Did I get anything accomplished? Well, I joined Twitter. So ... no.

Work's finally tipped over from "flat-out" to "manageable," which is nice. Didn't manage much writing or anything. I'm in a state of "meh" right now with the whole writing thing. But AW's back, so YAY! I was eating the most delicious cherries last night, and thought of you.

I've weirdly missed talking about the weather. It's going to be 38/39 here for a few days. UGH.

The winter is a howlin' over in Canuck-land.

And we're back! Fab.
Was nearly whisked off my bicycle and smashed into pieces today, the wind was so ferocious. Hailstones, snow. just waiting for brimstone...

Storm coming in here tonight. Probably not as bad as what's up in Canuk-land, but still. You guys missed the January thaw here. It was 59F one day!

One kid is back at school. The other kid and his friend went to Dad's for the remainder of vacation. I feel bittersweet. But I swear, it is not unreasonable to ask people to put their dishes and glassware in the dishwasher, no matter how many times one asks it. Is it abusive to try to establish and enforce some household rules?

The dogs are still here, bless their souls. Jackson is up to the usual.

Irish weather is spectacularly unpredictable - even more so than New Zealand, and Newfoundland, and Jupiter.

What was a rainy day, became End of the World hailstone filled wind. For 2 mins the winds were enough to lift a child off the ground, or batter a dog to death. Then...back to old standard rain and a milder 120knots of wind.

A car nearly hit me in the moment as well - it was so blinding.

Hey everybody!

Yay for manageable work, Beef! Your brain probably needs a break after the epic writingness of your epic story. We were supposed to get up to 40 on Sunday here... but now they've downgraded it to 34. 38 for Monday. I'm betting it gets downgraded further before the weekend gets here. It's been down to 13 at night. I had to put socks on this morning! The horror!

Brr for the howling winter, Daniel. Where I reckon you are (somewhere east of Kingston), winters are COLD.

Have done treadmilling, and worked out the next bit of my story, so I'm going to try to get that down rough in between bites of lunch.

I DID go to bed. I even fell alseep....for a while. But loud kids and a loud cat woke me up and now I can’t sleep. Grrrr.
