    Room Rules for Polite Discourse

*How's that for a title? Sometimes, I just floor myself.*

Rules, sometimes you gotta have 'em. (And, anyway, this is the sort of thing that happens when I'm left to my own devices.)

    So, the rules:

    • Respect Your Fellow Writer (RYFW): Yep, forever and always. Debate is good. Debate is healthy. But let's debate ideas and opinions, not the holders of those ideas and opinions. (For more on what respecting your fellow writer means, here's a link to the evergreen Newbie Guide.)
    • Make your language accessible: Every industry, every discipline has its own nomenclature. Each of us is here to learn something new, so choose language to communicate effectively rather than to show your larnin'.
    • Cite your sources: Cite foundational sources to support your arguments. Please do bring us links to interesting articles and books, poetry, and drama for discussion, too.

    That's about it.
