I found this list of what are supposed to be some great covers of his songs.

Yeah, I should have said I almost always prefer Dylan singing Dylan to the many covers that have been done of his songs. I agree with your example though. One thing I don't think gets mentioned very often is Dylan's vocal phrasing, where and how he places a lyrical phrase. I have heard some great covers of his stuff, usually when they've reimagined his tunes, like Hendrix on Watchtower for example.

I had a couple links to covers and then to Dylan's version, but this laptop is driving me crazy. The cursor is all over the place and I accidentally erased them and don't feel like going through the process again. But they were Forever Young by Patti LaBelle and Nora Jones, and Knockin on Heaven's Door by Clapton and Antony and the Johnsons. Also Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat by Beck.
