Should you place your website's URL in the header or footer?

Hello,

I created a website with the same URL as the name of my book.

I'd like readers of the book to participate in the forum on the website.

I mention the website at the beginning and ending of the book, but those pages may be overlooked.

Has anyone had success with adding the URL to their website in the header or footer of every page?

I, personally, think that would come across as spammy and might annoy readers. To be honest, it would annoy me.

I agree - spammy.

The common advice is to brand the author, not the book. That is, you have a page at yourauthorwebsite.com for the book, rather than book1title.com and booktitle2.com and booktitle3.com. Much less work that way. Maintaining all those separate sites takes time away from writing.

An URL on every page screams "desperate for hits."

However, I see nothing wrong with including a mention on a forward or About the Author.

If your book is in paper form, nobody can click on your URL. In electronic form, whenever someone accidentally clicks on your URL, they curse you. After a few curses, they drop you.

Do as you wish.
