I will sheepishly confess to watching the repeat for the second time on fox footy. More relaxing viewing now I know the outcome. (Plus, there's nothing else on TV tonight!)

The Cats actually did okay this year, but sadly lost their first final and got knocked out of contention.

My Eagles on the other hand ... PREMIERS! WOOOHOOO!!

I was about to revive the thread!! I've gotta say GWS has already won the pregame with their brilliant #bigbigsound social media campaign.

My tips:

Norm Smith - Dusty
Result: GWS by 7 (sorry, ajaye!! Got a gut feel)

I reckon if GWS wins, it'll be close. If your boys get up, it'll be a smashing.

I am disproportionately annoyed that they didn't blow the siren as Riewoldt's goal was sailing through. All the players were together, celebrating. Instead, they wait for them all to separate into their stupid 6-6-6 setup, then blow the siren, so they all have to run back into a group again. WHY?! Surely when the team's 90 points up with 1 second to go, the siren-blower should be allowed a tiny bit of discretion. GAH.

That was quite a definitive win.

I'm really pleased for all my Richmond-supporting friends and family, but egads was that match boring. It's not going down as one of the all-time great GF's, that's for sure!

AFL GRAND FINAL 2020!!

All right, Cats and kittens Tigers, it's that time of year again! Grand Final Day! Well, night. And it's the wrong time of year. But 2020.

After a suitably weird season -- fewer rounds, shorter quarters, interstate hubs -- we've finally made it to Richmond vs Geelong at the first ever grand final outside of Melbourne and the first one played at night (UGH! NEVER AGAIN, AFL!). The rain was torrential this afternoon, but will storms strike tonight (hopefully the Melbourne Storm strikes tomorrow, but that's a different story).

Who'll come out on top? Will the Tigers make it three premierships from the last four seasons? Will Gary Ablett Jnr retire with a medallion around his neck? Will Tom Lynch do another stupid careless thing and get suspended for the start of 2021?

Predictions below!

RICHMOND TIGERS VERSUS GEELONG CATS

Premier: Richmond by 23
First Goal: Luke Dalhaus (I'm going left field here!)
Norm Smith: Shai Bolton (I'm 50/50 between him or Shane Edwards. Though it'll probably be Dusty again)
Most Annoying Commentator: BT (uncontested)

This pre-game entertainment is a bit dire, isn't it?

Wolfmother was at least upbeat. The others were slooooow. Put me to sleep.

And I love that Powderfinger turned down the gig, so they instead hired someone to... cover Powderfinger.

Wow, that was a bad few seconds for injuries.

BT's excellence shines through: "Gee, it looks like a leg or knee perhaps for Gaz," he says as Ablett clutches at his arm. <insert eye roll here>

Woot! Yay, ajaye!!!!

But next year, can we give it to someone else, please? This is getting a bit repetitive!
