ROUND 4
Let's be honest -- there's only one important thing to note about round 4 ... JOSH KENNEDY IS BACK! WOOT! (Am I biased? Why, not at all. Not at all. But thanks for asking).
In other news, Josh Kennedy is back.
Oh, and in case you missed the news, Josh Kennedy is back.
During the week, the Greater Western Sydney Giants quietly announced they've dropped the "GWS" bit of their name. Given the "GWS" moniker was only supposed to be temporary and was quite a mouthful, it seems a sensible move to drop it. OTOH, their preferred name is now "Giants" but in all-caps. I've put that in below, if only to show how damn stupid it looks.
The Tiges take on a Brisbane team who were unlucky to lose last week against Port in Adelaide. It seems wrong they're sitting at the bottom of the ladder, because their form's been pretty solid. Having said that, I fully expect Richmond to crush them tomorrow. (In other news, given Brisbane is a merged team who'll be wearing the old Fitzroy strip this week ... this match is all Lions and Tigers and Bears. Oh my).
In other match-ups, a slumping St Kilda will attempt to beat an injury-ravaged Geelong at a venue where they haven't won this millennium (good luck with that, guys). Collingwood gets yet another plum Friday night match tonight, despite the fact they've sucked for years (good luck against Adelaide in Adelaide, guys).
It'll be interesting to see how Essendon fronts up after the roasting they've copped after their loss to the Bulldogs. And can we just take a moment to thank Conor McKenna for chomping down on his opponent, giving newspapers country-wide the opportunity to finally, legitimately run with the headline:
Man Bites Dog.
