We're back. Just under two hours to drive down there(including one mountain pass with tight cornering), an hour spent getting totally lost and asking for directions at almost every gas station, and then a two and quarter hour drive back. Coming back is longer because you're going uphill and there's lots of big rig trucks on the road, so overtaking can be tricky. But it was awesome. We saw baboons, a Cape Vervet monkey, giraffes, a few Kudus and lots of cows, sheep and goats. We passed the Addo Elephant Park but you wouldn't be able to see any of them from the road.
We ran out of time to go book shopping and to the plant nursery but we'll do that next time - now that we've got a better idea of the layout of the city. But for the next couple of months, my freezer is full and my grocery cupboards are bulging.
I did get a quiche. Does that count?
No. I didn't. But I found the right mall. They have all the cool shoe shops. Next time!!!
That's exactly what my hubs and I are thinking of doing. Like a book exchange, where you get a 1/3 of the cost of a book credited to your next purchase.

This is the best used bookstore I've ever been to. They got as big as they are by doing trade-ins. You bring books you've read and get credit toward your purchase of new(really used, but new to you) books. It is a great way to keep in stock of what you want to read.
