Cheering you all on!
1. Finish reading 20 books - 18 down
2. Start and finish beta read - typing up notes
3. Start post-beta editing of my Jack Frost novel (waiting for betas)
4. Five days a week at the gym (changing to 5 work outs a week, in case I do multiple ones in one day) - not likely :(

Month goals:

  • Write 10K to WIP? (finish maybe?) no.....
  • Survive build season at mentoring dare I jinx it? It's been going well!
  • Finish my last Christmas gift done!
  • Make soap of some sort (with both color and fragrance) done!
  • Complete revised budget to compensate for car repairs no, but I have sort of managed around it?
  • One beta read (it's only like 80 pages) done!

I could just spend the next few days writing, and then feel very accomplished about this...

Closing in on the end of the month. As anticipated, this week was a bust on the literary front: I got some reading done but no writing/editing at all. All my time was taken up with rehearsals and continuing to settle into my NYC digs. The whole week felt like trying to drink from a fire hose - way too much coming at me at once. I feel a little more human today (day off!), and on the up side, I'm close to finishing my third book, and I easily exceeded my walking goal for the week. Of course, most of that walking was up and down 9th Avenue, but it's still exercise. If I'm not too tired, I may head up to Central Park today for a REAL walk.

1. Find a place to live in NYC - DONE
2. Finish going over editor's 1st pass on Book #2 in fantasy series - DONE
3. Do final draft of Book #3 in series, incorporating beta input from December - currently on Chapter 1
4. Begin editing/revising rough draft of Book #4 - currently on Chapter 1
5. Read three books - 2 of 3
6. Walk at least three miles a week - Week #1: 2/3; Week #2: 3/3; Week #3: 5/3; Week #4: 12+/3
7. Take at least one good long nature walk before heading to NYC - DONE
8. Decide on my goals/books for the AW 2017 Reading Challenge - DONE
9. Work on my short story for the AW Sekrit Solstice Swap
10. Finish editor's 2nd/final pass on Book #2 in fantasy series
11. Take down Christmas decorations - DONE
12. Pack for NYC move - DONE

January is just about over, and I'm pleasantly surprised that I accomplished eight of my 12 goals, given the move to NYC and the start of rehearsals. I'm sad I didn't get any writing/editing done (I'm particularly troubled that I haven't had a single idea for my Sekrit Solstice story). I only just got the 2nd round of edits from my editor this week, so I don't feel so bad about not completing that one. I just finished reading the last of my three books, and am already well over my walking goal for the week. I'm pleased that I was only a mile shy the first week and more than made up for it the latter part of the month.

Everything not finished will just move to February - which will probably be just as trying as January was.

1. Find a place to live in NYC - DONE
2. Finish going over editor's 1st pass on Book #2 in fantasy series - DONE
3. Do final draft of Book #3 in series, incorporating beta input from December - currently on Chapter 1 NOT DONE
4. Begin editing/revising rough draft of Book #4 - currently on Chapter 1 NOT DONE
5. Read three books - 3 of 3 DONE
6. Walk at least three miles a week - Week #1: 2/3; Week #2: 3/3; Week #3: 5/3; Week #4: 12+/3 Week #5 6/3 DONE
7. Take at least one good long nature walk before heading to NYC - DONE
8. Decide on my goals/books for the AW 2017 Reading Challenge - DONE
9. Work on my short story for the AW Sekrit Solstice Swap NOT DONE
10. Finish editor's 2nd/final pass on Book #2 in fantasy series NOT DONE (but not my fault)
11. Take down Christmas decorations - DONE
12. Pack for NYC move - DONE

Off to start the February thread. See you there!

I did so much game this month that I felt bad... yet I still managed to complete the rest of my goals to a satisfactory (if not perfect) standard so...

Finished the final chapter and got started on the next too. I finished writing the SS story. It's a mess atm but hopefully I'll be able to pull it together. The short stories I ended up doing were both flash, but one has already been subbed, and the other is finished-I-think; I sent it to a friend and hopefully she'll get back to me at some point.

Finished A Tangle of Gold, finishing the trilogy. While technically one of my five books for the month was a novella, it's better than I've been doing for a long while. I actually finished my library books without having to extend the loan and then return them unread anyway!

So overall I'm quite happy.

1. Write Solstice Swap story. Drafted!
2. Edit two other stories. 2/2
3. Edit five chapters of Book 2. 5/5
4. Game creation. All the game ever.
5. Read five books. 5/5
6. Min 500 words or 2 pages edited per day.
Yep.

Finished exactly none of these.
