Aggy that was really entertaining, and I don't mean entertaining-for-a-parody-story-posted-for-the-rabid-Sisyphus-squirrels, but regular I-would-like-to-see-this-in-print entertaining. More please.

Also
He frickety-fracking sparkles.

I think paddismac has a new tagline. Hmmm?

So I log in and what do I see but a sparkly vampire goat story!

I really needed the giggles today too. I nearly did a spit take when EDVARD said 'wampire.'

Amazing, Aggy!

Hahaha. I try. Will try to get the next segment up tomorrow morning, but we're going to be out of the house this evening so I might not get it written. (Of course, I wrote today's segment while drinking my morning cuppa, so there's always hope for a new chunk tomorrow.)

Some popcorn for me too, please!

I reserve the right to sneak a sparkly goat into my story somewhere, but only if it fits and emo, vampires and emo vampires are right out.

Aggy that is awesome! I giggled :D

Oh FYI the story I did last year is now shortlisted at a +pro-paying market. I'll be on pins and needles until I hear back later in January.

I promise I'm going to participate next year. I would have loved to do it this time around (it's been two years), but I've got too much to do, including a house move half way across the country in the middle of it. Next time!

Do I, or don't I? Do I, or don't I?

I don't want to disappoint someone if I can't commit. But maybe, if I like a prompt enough, I could borrow it ...

Welp, I'm in for 2017.

Prompt: I'd love a Steampunk or Sci-Fi that leans more to the humorous and HEA side of the house than away. An extra 40 Sisyphus Sweetness Points* will be awarded if you can figure out how to work in a clockwork manatee.

Give: I'll write just about anything except smexy times. Because I stink at them.

*DISCLAIMER: Made up points are entirely made up and their values are completely pointless.

Nothing like the last minute, right? I would like to join, please. Give and receive, and beta if necessary.

Receive: I would like a story about a test-maker.

To expand on that a bit: there are plenty of stories where the protagonist faces tests before they can embark on/advance/resolve the plot. I'd like to hear from the person behind all that (or, well, one of them). What qualities are they testing for? Why this test and not something else? What happens if their test fails?

Anywhere in SFF is fine except no grimdark. "Low in sax and violins" to quote Religion0. Mixing tropes (robot quest? wizards in space?) is fun, but not required.

Give: I'll try anywhere in SFF, but hard SF would likely be a struggle. I can't write smexytimes, grimdark or gore.

Sparkly goats only if they fit the story.

Aw, I wrote this in my head before reading this thread today. But I guess it fits in better now.

There once was a sparkly goat
From its skin, Fred wanted a coat
Tried to flay it, to his ire
The goat was a vampire
Now Fred's gone, and that's all she wrote

Jacq sure knows how to keep Edvard in line, doesn't she?

Brilliant work, Aggy! :Trophy:
