Hmmm perhaps too obscure. A hint: When I was young, they referred to him as "The Late Great _______ ________."

Next song (going waaaaaay back):

The record hops
And all the happy times we had
The soda shop
The walks to school now make me sad, oh

Plus the hint from yesterday if it helps: When I was young, they referred to him as "The Late Great _______ ________."

Sorry for the stumper! I'll give it until noon EST and pick another one if nobody gets it by then.

I also feel it worth mentioning that even after my Google cheat, I still had not heard the song before, and that's coming with an additional admission that I thought I knew all of their works :flag:

Wow, I thought it was a better known song than that. Answer: "What to do" by (The Late Great) Buddy Holly.

New lyrics:

You're so fine
They'll never see you leaving by the back door

I can't think of the song's title. Hell, I can't understand most of Jagger's guttural lyrics even though I like the tunes. "Shattered" is what first comes to mind as being enjoyable, but what the hell is he saying besides, 'Shattered'?

"Start Me Up" is the elusive Rolling Stones song.

"I hate those people who love to tell you money is the root of all that kills..."

Why do I always manage to miss the one I would have got, only to check back when there's one I have no clue about?

Everclear - "I Will Buy You a New Life." (I used to listen to this song a lot... I liked the next line, too. "They have never been poor. They have never had the joy of a welfare Christmas.")
