Just found the DVD of this series over the weekend. It was better than I had expected. Sounds like it was supposed to have a second season which was cancelled.
The show is based on the Beowulf poem but more as a world-setting than the actual story. There are a lot of politicking going on but it's cool to see all the maneuvering of each of the players.
