For those in the Washington, DC Metro area: the National Gallery of Art is bringing back its free Writing Salon series.
The first Salon is in October, and will focus on creating dialogue and monologues using artwork by Mary Cassatt and Berthe Morisot as inspiration. The series continues with Salons in January, February and April 2017.
The Salons are led by local writers, including playwrights and poets. There's no fee to participate, but advance registration is required.
I participated in one of these last year and really enjoyed it. If you're in the DC Metro area, you might want to check it out.
