A job post has this at the end:

Please apply with an editable resume and your best rate on a 1099.

This is a medical writing job. Why would they want an editable resume and rate submitted on a 1099?

I don't know why they want an editable resume, but I assume the "best rate on a 1099" means "The lowest rate you would accept for 1099 work."

It's odd and if you don't know this company, I would steer clear. To me it says that they may be resubbing your credentials to clients--but they want to edit them? No.

Especially if they might be removing contact information, so they can make it look as though you are only available through them, either as your employer or your agent.
