Liked both the riddle and the answer, which I am obviously concurring with...

On the previous riddle, it seems to me that 'panic' would also apply, which was where I was headed prior to reading PIAH's great answer? What am I missing?

I played and sang for decades,
spinning ecstatically as they danced.
Eventually they deemed me old --
moved on to music more advanced.

I retired for some years;
my tuneful grooves were silent then.
But now they've re-discovered me,
and I make music once again.

One is all it needs
to have kids like mice

rare would be to find a human
who's abstained from it

at times needed
when caught jerkin' off
or copying at the exam

some like to call it white
and make their sin noble

but why deem it a sin
when used by animals global

those who camouflage their skin
to fool the prey

can you imprison them for the act
or should i say
would they let you come too near

Or I short count the change in my cup
And my failure in school
With an everyday tool
Draws a positive/negative "Yup"

Using numbers and letters complex
Mixing hard rules and theories for flex
Axiomatic my burn
At my difficult churn
It's a formula designed to vex

Strength in numbers I've heard it oft said
But that quotient is not what I've read
With the product unknown
Can't solve for the X zone
With this subject, I can't leave the bed

What's my angle? Thought you'd never ask
It is cubed, cause it such a big task
And I'm sort of a jerk
Cause I can't show my work
Thus with tutor I now sit and bask...
