So, I ran across Ken Dunn, the CEO of this particular group, posting in a writing group. My impression is vanity press, posing as a traditional publisher with some other services to cover the vanity side of things. Impressions?

Easy. Vanity.

When the entire website is aimed at authors rather than readers, when there's an index tab labeled "Packages," and especially when the company positions itself as having the inside track that "traditional" publishers lack, you can guarantee it's vanity. And did you look at the prices on some of those packages?

I don't see any way that a "Platinum" author could EVER recoup the cost of publishing her/his book. Ever.

28K$?? thats publishing for folks who already have money. if i had that much money just laying around my mortgage would be much closer to being paid off.

Looking at their books, their authors are the usual vanity-bait of retirees with a Story To Tell, professionals and entrepreneurs too busy to research a whole new industry, religious folk getting their message out, and autobiographers/misery memoir writers.

Some of the covers are quite good. They'd better be, for 20K to 30K.

Filigree's Rule, again. I can't help some people, and there's worse things they could be spending their money on.

I'm always amazed at how people with that kind of money to spend actually managed to keep it long enough to buy these packages. Didn't some Nigerian Prince contact them? BTW, there are Nigerian tribal princes. None with any governmental power or money, but there are ones that call themselves prince.
