It's rare to get a fully glowing review in PW. They sort of pride themselves on throwing in at least one negative. But there's plenty of great quotes out of this, such as:

"Milly's conflicted relationship with her own mind is skillfully portrayed."

"A strong look at how mental illness can manifest and affect lives"

"Cronkhite (Deep in the Meadows) crafts an unusual psychological thriller."

Congrats! :D

Thanks, Marlys. I really appreciate it.

Yes, Cathy, I was thinking the same thing. I think there's a way I can add it to my Amazon page. I'll have to look into that. Thanks again.

CGs on the review! Yup, there are some "money" lines in there.

Poisoned Pen will probably take care of that for you. Drop your editor a line and see if that's something marketing does. :)

Thanks everyone!

I was able to add it to my author page on Authorcentral on Amazon. It says it will take 3 to 5 business days to list it. YAY!!!

And, and, and...My book is finally on the shelf at an actual brick and mortar B&N here in my local area, listed as recommended reads from local authors!!! (my avatar)

I think this might be more exciting than the review! This is a dream many writers have - book on the "recommended" table in the story.

Wow. :snoopy:

Well, Ms Cronkhite, this is mighty awesome, both the PW positives and the B&N shelving. Woo hoo! I'm excited for you!

AW. A very nice place!
Sorry. But this review borders on the idiotic. The praise is cool and undoubtedly deserved. But the critique?!

the overall narrative is disjointed and unfocused; dramatic revelations come off as muted and distant. Even Milly's diagnosis carries little weight or impact, while another surprise regarding her family is bluntly revealed. Despite these shortcomings,

What do you expect? If the protag is "disconnected" a main symptom of that is detachment. Of course things are going to appear muted and be put across as such. To do otherwise, put them across as dramatic, would be to undermine the character and entire point of the novel.

Seriously confused.

Anyway. Awesome going. Proud of you ! :)

And like Cathy said, there is probably a quota of negativity that has to be stuck in to each and every review so I wouldn't pay it any attention.

Congrats, Undercover! :) Looks like, based on your avvie, your book is shelved in a bookstore, too! :D (Barnes and Noble? Books-A-Million?)

Thanks everyone! It means a lot.

Kenny, my man, you shoulda seen my Kirkus Reviews. I got School Library Journal too which wasn't as bad. But all of them were not so good. haha.

But you have a point, makes sense right? anywayssss. I am happy to get them. I'm in 4 libraries that I know of too. 10 with the e-book. So if anyone has a YA realistic mystery please consider the Poisoned Pencil. They treat you mighty good for a mid-size pub.
