LadyV, if you're not behind, then wouldn't working those hours pretty much burn up the company's finances with OT? I've found that often these companies make decisions that make absolutely no sense at all and even when they are proven wrong they keep making those choices.

I just took delivery of components I need to create my own table top game. Binge! a game about student life and the big question: how to balance heavy drinking with study time? (It's not actually a drinking game, but it toys with the idea.) If a few other things will just fall into place before Friday, I might be able to test play it over the weekend.

The company doesn't seem to mind paying us time and a half, but I'm sure if we were getting too much, they'd squash that. Like they did with raises. No one is getting a raise this year, yet they expect more work. They're really cracking that whip hard. They keep this up, they won't have anyone to push around because we'll all find work elsewhere. As for unionizing, it's just not an option.

It seems that the whole world is becoming increasingly beaurocratic and oppressively corporatised. My university is waltzing down the same route.

Prince Welcheren, If I wanted lead turned into gold you would definitely be the first person I called upon. Since I just want my sinuses to stop exploding my head...well, it seemed the apothecary was the better choice. But at this moment in time I would drink anything if it would make it all just go away.

I've been almost .. emphasis on "almost" too busy to fart. After starting to write the world's next greatest play (I think it'll bust out on Broadway ... or something like that ... in about 2022 or so) and humbly accepting a role in my first play since I played that tree in Tubby the Tuba in second grade. It was a dinner theater production of Death and Taxes where we ruined the appetite of 50 or so diners. There was a lot of dessert left. I didn't get to kiss the girl (something they all had in their contracts) but I enjoyed a new experience at age 70. The director has been avoiding me, I think, since the curtain dropped.

I had a fabulous weekend. The board game party was fun, then the boyfriend and I went hiking on Sunday. However, he just send me a text, saying he found a tick on himself. He got it out, and the doctor says he's fine. Needless to say, I hastily just checked myself over. I didn't see anything, but I'm still a little creeped out about it.

just pulled two of them things off of Hansel .. Gretel was free of them .. I'll probably find one or two when I take a shower since I was out in the woods most of the day. Dogs do have protection so any tick that tries to attach is doomed.
