Hi!

Could you help me with some suggestions (again!) ? :tongue

I would really need to sink my teeth into a good road trip novel, ideally with teenage characters. It could be non-fiction too. I know about the most obvious road novel, On The Road.

This is to inspire some ideas that have been simmering in my mind.

The teenage one that comes to my mind is The Rule of the Bone, by Russell Banks. I assume you mean the journey to be metaphorical at the same time, a coming-of-age journey as well. But I have to warn you, it's gritty.

Not road trips, but travelling novels, come to mind.

Wanderlove is a travelling/backpacking novel, and Goodreads thinks Just One Day is also a travelling YA novel but I haven't read it to be sure.

You might want to check out The Drifters by James Michener. It's about a group of college-age women and men on a road trip through Spain and Morocco, circa 1970. I have not yet read it, but it's the next novel on my "to read" list.

Crash Into Me by Albert Borris is a YA road-trip novel. It's pretty dark, as it centers around four suicidal teenagers.
