First draft done...after over five years!

I'm kind of shy and probably don't post as much as I should because of that.

But I really have to share this with people who understand.

I started working on this story over five years ago...probably closer to seven but at this point, the years blend in to one another. It started out as one thing, became something else, then something else, and all the while I couldn't get a first draft done. I think it was because I hadn't found the right direction.

I finally found the right direction.

And I finally finished a first draft.

Victory!

There's still a lot of work to do on it. But the biggest step is done, in my view.

Phew. I kinda want to cry and dance at the same time.

I'm dipping my toe into the revision process now...here's hoping it doesn't take as long as the first draft.

Thank you! Ugh. My computer is dying a slow, painful death...

Right now I'm just taking notes on revisions to make so hopefully by the time I'm done with that I'll be able, moneywise, to get a new one. I'm not a fan of writing longhand. 'Cause I'm lazy that way.
