Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone!

Nope no plans, other than keeping a close eye on Kharma . . . she's coming into heat. Oh joy.

Just finished pulling the meat off of chicken leg quarters and pork neckbones to make the dog food and giving them all green tripe for dinner.

She and the other two would love a barbecue, I'm sure, lol.

How's that for an exciting holiday?

Well, today I worked overtime and did some housecleaning.

Tomorrow, I plan to mow a lawn and shop for cat food.

If I'm ambitious on Monday, I have a couple of art projects I need to finish ASAP.

Hey, it's cheaper than a picnic, with significantly fewer yellowjackets.

We're at the beach this weekend (OBX). Plans are pretty simple: beach walks (water still too cold for swimming), reading books out on the screened porch, maybe a little aquatherapy in the hot tub with either a mimosa or frozen margarita (depending on the time of day of said aquatherapy), and writing a little if the muse inspires in that direction. Ahh, vacation!

Neener, neener, I got my long weekend last weekend (i.e. I'm not American. Hail to Queen Victoria!)

In theory, it's about remembering fallen American soldiers, whose deaths preserve our freedoms. (Wikipedia link.)

In fact, it seems to be about selling mattresses, cars, and anything else you can slap a Memorial Day Sale price on. That, and running marathons of various TV shows of dubious relation to the holiday.

It's also the unofficial kick-off to summer, so there's lots of picnicking and BBQs and outdoor festivals and such, weather permitting. (The weather's decided to interfere with my own weekend plans - too rainy to mow a lawn today.)
