It looks like thick-slices off a largish French loaf, with butter and garlic (or garlic butter) sandwiched with a mix of three cheeses.
I'm sure having the bread pre-garlicked is helpful, (does any place near you sell loaves of garlic bread to re-heat?) but not necessary, especially if you just want to try as an ingredient in a sandwich.

Our one and only supermarket does sell garlic bread but the French loaf kind - long, thin loaves. I think I'm going to experiment by making my own garlic bread. Thanks for the encouragement.
