No one under thirty would understand a single post here.
But then when my younger coworkers start talking about Yu Yu Hakusho, (a dreadful Japanese anima series, don’t look it up, not worth it) I “tune out”… on purpose.
I work with young helpers all the time. I had this kid actually use Google to translate what I said to him. I said, “Are you trying to buffalo me?” I actually caught him after he walked away getting a voice response from the google A.I., “An urban saying meaning to be fooled, manipulated or tricked.” Some people use Google to translate languages. I’m so far out of time, twenty-year-olds need it to understand what I’m saying.
Funny thing. This generation thinks they know it all because they have the library of the world at their fingertips. But the missing piece is that knowledge and wisdom are two very different things. You can have all the knowledge of the world at your disposal, but without the complexity to filter it and direct its use, it’s just a shapeless sea of facts.
*sigh* A lecture that was lost on him and many young people I’ve come across lately.
