When Sally was crossing a bridge
A polecat came down from a ridge
She said "Oh, a kitty!
Its white stripe is so pretty!
Though I do think it smells just a smidge."
John's shoes were a trifle too small Even though they did make him look tall
But last night, at the dance, When his heel caught his pants,
Like Humpty, he had a great fall. (My 10-year-old grandson suggested that)
His dance moves were really a hit.
Although his new shoes didn't fit.
They're three sizes too big.
He'd zigzag and zagzig
- a shame that his trousers had split.
The ladies all gasped in dismay, as to the floor went his toupee.
Next went his glass eye,
then part of his thigh
And his Roman nose, sculpted of clay.
This morning, the sun did not rise,
the roosters still crowed, none the wise,
but because it was dark
it made the dogs bark
And thoroughly confused the flies.
