I am working on a social studies type book for children. There is information on various countries in the book, and I would like to include a picture of the flag and a map of the country. For my sample chapter(s) to send with a proposal, would I mention that I think those images are vital to the book? Or should I find some stock photos and include those as samples?

I've written two published books that have illustrations.
Best idea is to include some book specs type info somewhere in the proposal that says what you feel the book needs in the way of illustrations. I wouldn't include samples.
