Hi all. Do any of you use writing software? If so, what do you use and what do you like/not like about it? Tell me what features you like about the software you use or what you think was/is missing in something you've used.

TIA!

No, I do not use writing software, I tend to write my own stories over having a computer do it for me. Ok, Will, that was stupid. ...I know.

Scrivener. It's what I use. I've been using it, going on 2 years now.
Mostly for that I can have separated chapters, and keep them collected in a single open window and mark them as "to-do" "first draft" "revised draft" etc.
I don't really use it for plotting nor anything else.

On the contrary, I was going to say the same thing. Though Douglas Hofstadter has written eloquently on mechanizing creativity.

Ahem. I downloaded yWriter but I'm at a loss for what to do with it. (At least the price was right.) I mostly use a spreadsheet for notes and Q10 to compose.
