Devotional

Has anyone ever written a devotional? I was given a fantastic idea to write my own devotional, but I have very little experience in this kind of writing. I thought that beginning a conversation on the subject of writing and studying devotionals would be beneficial to everyone interested.

Anyway, who reads devotionals here? What are the concepts that make for a thoughtful and meaningful devotional?

Mine is centered around Dante's Divine Comedy which was one of the main things that changed my whole view of my spirituality.

When I first wanted to wrote devos, I read a whole lot of them to see what other writers do. Also, if you want to submit some to devo markets, check each publication to see what their guidelines are. I also compiled a book of devos for writers, and set my own style and had each contributor format her devo that way.
