Does anyone know if it's possible to add horizontal lines next to text in MS Word without having to draw them in?

Is this –––––––––– the type of line you mean? In word if you type a word followed by a space hyphen space then another word followed by a space, word will expand the hyphen to fill the character space. You can then copy the hyphen and immediately paste the expanded hyphen several times to make the line as long as you want.

Since LOG doesn't seem to care about this question anymore I'm going to close this thread.

LOG, if you want it reopened, let me know.

And for the record, I'm not sure what you're asking either.
