Would you mind driving up to Cabot, Vermont, buying some aged Cheddar, and mailing to to me?
Would you mind paying for my gas, plus an overnight stay (make that two nights--one going, one returning) in Boston?
If I said I do mind, would you still get me the cheese? (To save gas you could take the train to Montpelier, and then hitchhike the 20 miles to Cabot.)
Hitchhike in this weather? (Snow is predicted through Friday in the Montpelier area) Are you serious?
I sold my cross-country skis to an elderly lady last week, so can I assume you will provide me with a new pair?
Why don't you take the money you got selling your old ones, and go buy new ones? (In New York, skis must be selling at end-of-season clearance prices.)
Hasn't it occurred to you that I might already have spent the money on...um...certain things?
