Ive really enjoyed reading this thread!

First off, I use a Cintiq 12wx which works great. I've worked on Cintiq 24hd's in the past but when it came time to purchase one of my own, I settled on the Cintiq 12wx because it's a more attractive price, it's portable, and the surface area is about the size I'm used to drawing on. I bought a wooden desktop artist's easel for when I need to turn the Cintiq on its side from landscape to portrait to draw taller illustrations (the stand that comes with this Cintiq is designed to stand it up in a landscape position but not so much for portrait).

I use Photoshop, Flash, After Effects, Illustrator, and most recently Sketchbook, which has been great for drawing. The thing I like about Sketchbook is I can do a rough sketch in the Sketchbook iPad app, save it to the cloud, and then continue to work off of that on my Cintiq later on. I bought a stylus to use on my iPad and I'm still getting used to it but it works well enough for rough sketches.
