I always hate these announcements, but there's no easy way around it.

I just got news that longtime AW member, Steve Sarber -- SMSarber -- has passed away. He was way too young. He was one of the good guys.

Godspeed, Steve. You'll be missed.

Here, there, everywhere.
This is just so wrong. :( :( :(

He was a really nice guy, very much cared for by the Hounds.

We'll miss you. :( :( :(

:( I can't believe it. Steve always put up the good fight. A man that loved his family dearly and his friends. A great writer, a great friend, and a great hound. I'll miss you, Steve. R.I.P., my friend. My most sincere condolences to his family. God bless.

That is so not fair. He fought damn hard and tried to stay hopeful and cheerful during all those hospitalizations. Tears for Steve, Crystal and the kids.

Steve put up with more crap than any twelve people should have ever had to deal with. And somehow through it all he managed to stay positive and good-natured - and post some truly horrendous pictures over the years of medical things that I didn't know could happen to a person. Did I mention he managed to keep his sense of humor?

Don't know how he did it for as long as he did, and I'm sorry it wasn't longer.

He will be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear this. He was such a gallant fighter, funny and joyful to the end. Godspeed, good friend, and blessings to Crystal and his family.

A dark, evil place.
It hurts to lose a Hound. We'll miss him.

Steve was proud, and rightly so, of his sobriety. So I'm going to chose to celebrate that, and the blessing that must have been for his wife and kids.

RIP, my almost namesake.

In the Castle, of course.
Oh. No. I will always treasure the friendship I had with Steve. I visited him and met his family. Such a sweet man. So unfair. My heart breaks for Crystal and the children. :(

RIP, my friend.
