In my life I have probably watched the movie "Better off Dead" a couple of thousand times. But recently I was in a phase of putting on "Shaun of the Dead" at night to go to sleep to, and have been doing that every night for the past year or so.

It would probably be between Big Trouble In Little China and Star Wars although Constantine is gaining speed. :)

In the theater, it's Phantom of the Opera (35 times within 10 weeks) with Rocky Horror Picture Show (23 times in a single summer) coming in second.

On VHS/DVD, it's probably Galaxy Quest. When we want a movie to watch during dinner, that's the go-to movie time after time. Never gets old. Probably one of The Best Parodies every written. Love that movie.

I've got to go with Millers Crossing. I just can't get enough. I could watch the opening scene a thousand times in a row and never get bored.

The dialog - to die for, truly epic.

Are you sure? Look in your heart! (Yeah, it is a great movie. Should be better known.)

Jon Polito killed me:

I'm talkin' about friendship. I'm talkin' about character. I'm talkin' about - hell. Leo, I ain't embarrassed to use the word - I'm talkin' about ethics.
I always wonder how they do it - the Cohen brothers are just spectacular, and they were hitting on all cylinders with that one. That's for sure.

Of the following I have lost track of how many times I've watched them.

Casablanca
The Maltese Falcon
Wizard of Oz
Creature from the Black Lagoon
Dracula (original)
Frankenstein
Heck, any and all of the universal horror monsters
Raiders of the Lost Arc
Blade
The Thing from another World
Them!
Forbidden Planet
And now my mind has gone blank but I'm sure there are dozens more.

Hmm. Probably either The Princess Bride or The Neverending Story. I have no idea how many times each, but it's well into the 20s at least.

Jaws - The number of times I've seen this has to be in the hundreds. Seriously. It might even be over a thousand. I can recite it line by line and if I'm flipping through the channels and catch it, I watch it. No matter how far into the movie it is. It's my favoritest movie evah.

Star Wars - See above. :D

The Empire Strikes Back

Monty Python & the Holy Grail

There are probably others, and I'm sure they'll come to me as soon as I hit reply. :D

I love watching The Road to El Dorado every now and then, it's a cute animated movie which isn't necessarily meant just for kids. It makes me smile, which I like. :)

I also find myself watching The Plague Dogs every six months or so, since it's such a good movie -- and definitely not for kids, even though it's also animated.

Oh, and The Dark Knight is a great flick which I make a point to re-watch whenever I'm in need of narrative inspiration.

Romancing the Stone
The Goodbye Girl
Murder By Death
Evil Under the Sun
Singles

I'll probably think of more later...

Ghostbusters and Titanic. I watch a little bit of both everytime I see them on.

I'm not going to see Titanic 3D though. I can't see spending that much money on something I've already seen-- now if they just showed from the time they hit the iceberg to the end in 3D (and charged 2/3 less) I'd be there :)

When my husband and I were first married, our apartment didn't get any tv reception and the only dvd we owned was Fellowship of the Rings, extended version. We probably watched it 20 times. LOTR quotes became part of our every day conversation.

*sigh* Good times. :)
