A newbie? A newbie???

:drool

So we're still barbequing today. Good, I was feeling a bit hungry.

Welcome, Graphite, welcome. Grab a chair, enjoy your time with the hounds.

Also, :hi: Ted, hurry back or there will be no leftovers left.

Now THERE is a newbie. Go get 'em!

I'll be over here in the non-humanitarians section. Where it's, y'know, safe. :gone:

Here, there, everywhere.
Do I smell a Newbie-Q? :D

(And a fresh one at that since, yeah, Shuemais was already newbie-qued.)

*puts thinking cap on for Elements of Horror*

You guys *do* realize that letting me set the next Elements of Horror bit is dangerous, right? :D
Um, yeah. I'm simultaneously scared and curious. :D

Oh yes, that should suffice, but careful with that please, I like my meat rare.
Ditto.

*passes out wet naps*

Just sear the outside please. :evil

I suppose this begs the obvious question --

"Elements of Horror" is ... what now?

Thanks, Laurie, for pointing him in the right direction. I couldn't even explain it again if I tried. :tongue

I hope you play along, Shuemais. :hooray:

Well, hounds, I'm being rather ambitious tonight. I'm making lasagne. I have never made it before, that I can remember. And I'm throwing in some elements that are not the norm to begin with. Plus, I'm combining elements from, like, three different recipes. Because, you know, why not complicate things?

We will see how it all comes out. :D

*heads to Soap's for dinner*
You should probably wait until tomorrow, for leftovers. Just in case this doesn't come off...
I almost set the kitchen ablaze twice today.

I'm putting off making dinner.
 Salads. Salads are generally safe. :D

Or sandwiches. (not grilled tough)

Yeah... But I made the kids eat sandwiches for dinner yesterday - in the car, no less, on the 45 minute drive from Dude's allergist appointment to his swim team practice.

And again for lunch today.

I think I've worn that card out.

I'd happily be the guinea pig for trying experimental lasagne.

Just so long as I don't get eaten after...

Eat you after?

No, no.
You were the experimental ingredient, though.

We wouldn't do that. :D

Lasagna is easy. :D

(And if your recipe is not, I have one that is.)

Well, I wouldn't say it was *easy* exactly. :tongue And the top layer was mostly noodle bits....but, it came out okay. Not lasagne-ish very much at all by the time it was done, but a casserole that tasted good. No one refused to eat it. So...win, I think.

Lasagne sounds delicious! Tomorrow I'm making Mexican giant stuffed shells. Basically just taco meat and spanish rice stuffed in a jumbo pasta shell covered in enchalada sauce and cheese and baked.

Even though I haven't finished the Van Helsing prompt (and am unlikely to do so until I get rid of the little one demanding attention) I have posted the next Elements prompt - you guys have been warned numerous times that my brain is a rather strange place, so weird prompts are to be expected. :D

Oh, and I have pasta as well - and I learned that "it's the wrong color".

Yes, I know that I should know by now that small children judge food by its' color, but... it tastes so good. Maybe I could blindfold her, and get her to eat it that way... *considers plan*

Did you get the tri-color pasta? :D Kids usually like fun colored stuff! Drop some red food dye in your boiling water next time you make some and it'll come out pink. Zoe will LOVE that!

I saw it on Pinterest and thought it would be good. The Pinterest recipe only calls for the beef but shells that big stuffed with just beef seems a little boring so I'm trying the rice with it for some more texture/flavor. Guess I could use refried beans now that I think about it... Hm... Maybe I'll make a few of each and see what tastes best!
