I'm a bit late to the party too but the day 1 prompt "Night Duty" really helped. I had written a paragraph months back, didn't know where to go next so dumped it in a folder. Saw the prompt and immediately knew how to complete the story...wrote a 914 word flash

Thanks, Izz. :) Well done to everyone who gave the challenge a try. Just one sketched out story opening is a good jumping off point. Keep writing, and I hope to see stories from you all uploaded for feedback, or news of their sales! Best of luck, and see you next month for the February challenge!

Yes, thank you. I didn't use one every day (or even most days), but they were useful to get the gears turning when I couldn't think of anything to write.

Thanks for this! I, too, didn't use them every day, but a couple of them have really sparked things off for me, and I now have some great material to be working on prompted by these :)

Can't wait for February!

So far i still only have 4 completed stories from the prompts, but 2 of those stories are already out the door looking for homes. That includes the only 1 of those stories that is actually flash :)

I've got enough material and ideas from the unfinished prompts to last me all year, i reckon!

ZOMBIE THREAD! MWUAHAHAHA..hem.

Erm, yes, well, that is to say, the story i wrote for the day 5 prompt for this month (Fire Season--and thus titled--and which ended up at nearly 2,000 words) has placed second in the SpecFicNZ short story contest hosted by Wily Writers. The story goes live in both audio and text formats this Sunday. And i get paid by both Wily Writers and SpecFicNZ!

Anyway, as you were, peoples :)
