For no apparent reason whatsoever.

Man, TWO DAYS worth of this one, and I HAVE NO IDEA WHY.

I finally pulled the vinyl 45 today and spun up the Technics SL1200 turntable.

It went bye-bye.

What do you guys when you have a song stuck in your head?

I fight fire with fire. There are some good songs I just have to think of for a second, and any not-quite-as-catchy song that's been bugging my brain is gone.

Billy Joel's Uptown Girl usually works against everything. Unless, of course, you don't like Billy Joel and the song stuck in your head is Uptown Girl.

In which case I apologize. I know just mentioning that one can haunt an unsuspecting mind for days.

But try to get "Yummy, yummy, yummy, I've got love in my tummy" out of your mind...

When it happens to me I usally have to hear Robin Thompson's Sweet Virginia Breeze to clear my mind. I almost miss living in Richmond, one of the lite rock stations used to start the morning show with that song. Of course, that meant being awake at 6:00 a.m.

The only songs that ever get stuck in my head are ones I hear on the radio either in the car or at the shops.

Apparently, if it's on my playlist, it doesn't get stuck in my head. *shrug*

To get a song out of my head, I usually just wait till I'm able to hear another song. Any song will do, so long as I hear the whole thing. :)
