Are food additives on food products produced and sold in the U.S. (or any non-European country) labeled with E codes, like:

curcumin E100
guar gum E412 ?

If they are, they should be almost on any label. Can someone check?

Here's the list of E coded food additives

Checking now --- Product is Honey Roasted Peanuts.

Ingredients: Peanuts, Sugar, Peanut and/or Canola and/or Cottonseed oil, Honey, Modified Potato Starch, Salt, Xanthan Gum.

So no, no E codes. Nor would I expect them to be there, since they are specific to the EU.

Adding to what others have said, I've never actually noticed an "E code" on any US food label such as the ones you mentioned (which is not to say there isn't one). I have a little of just about everything in my house; I'd be glad to go check any particular canned good or product.

I've got a flashing thought these E things might become international, I mean universal...
