It's good to many people (I liked it - and I also liked the movies), though going by your stated likes and dislikes I'm not sure if it would be up your alley.

The first book in Peter Brown's Red Rising series is sometimes marketed as YA: rather dystopian, set in an interplanetary future where genetically engineered humans live in a caste-driven society, and it goes into darker places than Hunger Games. (The series itself, though, is not YA.)
