Where should I include commas, if any, in the following:

I recognized his long curly blond hair.

And how about:

Dad yanked on his wavy black hair.

Technically, it should be:
I recognized his long, curly, blond hair.

You don't see these commas all the time any more, though. Some folks leave out one or both.

A better technique is not to stack so many adjectives on one noun:
I recognized his blond hair, which hung in curls to his shoulders.

I think the rule with adjectives and commas is, if you can insert an and between the adjectives and it makes sense then it needs a comma. But like the previous comment, I suggest not doing this too much.

I recognized his long, curly blond hair.

Dad yanked on his wavy black hair.

You don't need a comma before an adjective-noun combination that's so common as to be practically one word, like Royal Duchess, or golden retriever. To my mind, blond hair and black hair belong in this category, but thousands may disagree.
