How do I write about my family history?

How do you write about your family history

I'm new too and I can see that you have had no replies.
That is probably because, unlike you and me, most of the members are interested in fiction, or in non-biographical non-fiction.

You have to think about whom the work would be aimed at - is it just the family? If so some type of small print run self-publishing would suffice.

Or do you have family members whom you could actually write biographies about and whom you could maybe tie in to historical events or famous people etc.? It goes without saying that first you must have done the FH research, but then you can think of expanding some of the characters. I started small on my project and then realised that there was a great deal of information I could gather, and now I almost have a book done which is of more general interest.
