This is a new series by Showcase Canada. It tells the story of a succubus raised by a human couple. The first episode introduces Bo as she saves a young woman from a sexual predator who drugged her drink. She learns that she is a succubus and about the Fae that are all around. There are two camps, Light and Dark Fae and there is an uneasy truce between them. She is told she has to join one or the other but instead chooses humans. As the series progressed, more of her back story has emerged.
The Fae are a mixture of beings and it's good that some different ones appear. It seems the producers are using various mythologies to come up with their Fae. The Morrigan is the leader of the Dark Fae and is of Celtic lore. There are sirens, shapeshifters, furies (three sisters), a will-o-the-wisp (who was neither willowy nor wispy, just big boned or so he said), assassins who can remove their heads, gnomes and more.
Overall, it's not too bad. The writing could be a little better, the actors are doing the best with what they have. It mixes some light comedy but mostly is supernatural dealing mostly with the Fae world and Bo's place in it. 5 episodes out of 13 shown so far.
