Launched my blog 2 days ago... So far been posted in The Consumerist and Time magazin

I note that you have a Google page rank of 0, and that doing an incoming link search on Google for the blog shows this post on AW.

It does not show, even with specific searches, incoming links from Time or Consumerist other than sig links from comment threads.

So color me puzzled.

Google takes a bit to index things. Here are the links:

http://consumerist.com/2010/06/there-are-no-smart-phones-just-smart-people.html

http://money.blogs.time.com/2010/06/18/tips-84-fresh-and-frugal-ones/

(mines at the top)

There are a lot of web analytics you can use to see how many people go to your site and from where. I use Getclicky but you can also use google analytics or statcounter.

Comments: Actually I got a few comments on the post that The Consumerist linked too... But yes, even with over a thousand hits, only a few people commented. Do NOT judge the popularity of your blog by the amount of comments you get.

Wow - that is impressive that you got so much press so soon! I think the lesson here is to cover a really interesting topic that few people have thought about ("smarten up your 'dumb' phone" - love the concept and the title!) but many people will *want* to know about. Plus, anything relating to iPhones is hot and you took an interesting, contrarian approach to that.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the fourth link on the Time Magazine article was a link to one of my articles for Mint.com (since I freelance for them and have a million other projects going at once, I often don't see the incoming links).
