Hello one and all, I'm John and this is my obligatory introduction post!

I'm primarily a genre fan myself, in terms of writing.

Reading, however, is wide open and I'll read anything that's good. I'll also read some of the bad stuff too, because sometimes that's good in it's own way. One of these days I'll break down and get a kindle, as there is almost no wall space left for more bookshelves.

Or maybe a bigger house instead...

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Traditional Irish Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

Hi there John, and welcome to the Cooler. I can absolutely recommend a Kindle - I got mine two weeks ago and am already pretty hooked up. I also had the problem that I could not get any more books up on those shelves (and I even have two places, a house and a flat at the coast). Buying this Kindle gives me room for another 1500 books, and I find that reading is very easy and clear to the eyes. The kindle weighs less than a book and you can take it anywhere. An advantage is that you can buy books directly from Amazon with their wireless system (and it really works in just a few secs, even in Belgium). Moreover, this kindle was delivered to me by UPS in two days' time!

How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. Good luck.
