Hello!

I'm Tina (in case you couldn't guess from my user name). I'm new here, but not new to writing. I have an MFA (really not worth anything other than the awesome experience that it was!) and one published essay under my belt (it can be found here). I enjoy reading all types of books--fiction, non-fiction, YA, speculative, and graphic novel-- but write mostly non-fiction. However, I have started to dabble in fiction... of the speculative variety.

Lets see... I'm currently living in Ahmedabad, Gujarat India. However, I hail from upstate New York. I miss my two siamese (Tai and Pretty Kitty) terribly. I also miss living near a body of water as I enjoy boating and picked up surfing a few years ago. I quit my day job as a college instructor of freshman comp to join my S.O. here in India for the year. It was a good deal--he studies, I write. And writing I am! I've got one steampunk novel underway (its *mostly* planned out) and am currently working on a short story that might actually be a novella or YA book (also steampunk). Additionally, I've got a 5,000 word "literary" short story I'm trying to clean up for submission to a few journals and competitions. Whew!

I'm looking forward to discussing and sharing with you all (or as many of you as would like)! I read prolifically, and enjoy the finer aspects and nuances of "reading" and editing!

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Traditional Irish Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

Hello Tina. You could probably write a book about living in India for a year too, and even steampunk it!

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. Good luck.

Are they with a friend? (I hope)

:welcome:

I hope you enjoy AW. I've learned a lot here.

Being away from everyone and everything is a great opportunity to get some writing done. I hope you find it a fulfilling experience. :)
