Catch me if you can!
Tell us how you really feel?? ;) hahaha

I don't like or dislike Conan O'Brien. I have never taken the time to watch him, because I'm not much of a talk-show person. But this video is freaking hilarious, and I felt like sharing. It's not meant for any kind of debate re: the absurdity of money and the entertainment business... just a few laughs :)

(FYI - I hope the link keeps working! They already pulled it from Hulu so I have a gut feeling it won't stay on YouTube for long!)

I really did expect to see it snatched up by a "Cat"erpiller construction crane or something.

You mean a Caterpillar Mining Truck, right? Caterpillar doesn't make cranes as far as I can recall. And a mining truck crushing a Bugatti would be more awesome would be more awesome.

A mining truck would have been outstanding! Rumble across, leaving it flattened behind it. And yeah, they don't make cranes, but John Deere doesn't have the word Cat in it. :)

I would have rather seen a Mammoet crane myself. Those things are awesome.

I heard today that he'll receive forty million or so from NBC to step aside.

Is that even possible? I mean, how much money does it take to make someone go away from that network?

Oh, I know: $40,000,000.

He could take the $7 1/2 million a week and start his own channel. That would REALLY piss 'em off at the networks. Then take the $40 million and make a movie roasting the whole nasty affair (Remember The Late Shift, anyone?).

Oops, gotta go. My compost soup is almost ready.

The car was donated by some vintage car museum or something for the sketch.

Didn't cost them anything they said on the news tonight.

More than likely, any buyout payment will include a non-competition clause...

Just until Sept 1.

And the figure I've heard is $32M to buy out the remainder of his contract, plus $12M in severance for his staff -- the staff severance was apparently the big sticking point, but Conan stuck to his guns for his people (and will be providing more funds out of his own pocket).

Heard today that they settled on a deal and Leno's coming to take over. So this is probably the last of it.

I don't watch the show, but good on him for taking care of his staff. I'd start watching his next show just because of that.
