Web Reference Online's guidelines say the don't pay, but they do give free prizes. Associated Content and that HappyNews.com isn't on there.

Are you just including adult themed magazines? There's a long(ish) list of children's and teen magazines I regularly submit to. If anyone's interested in writing for them, here's ones that take submissions from freelancers:
American Cheerleader
American Girl
American Baby (adult but not listed above)
Appleseeds
Boy's Quest
Babybug
Campus Life
Children's Better Health Institute (Turtle, Humpty Dumpty, Children's Playmate, Jack and Jill, Children's Digest)
Cobblestone
Calliope
Cricket
Cicada
Dig
Fun for Kidz
Footsteps
Faces
Sweet 16
Guideposts for Kids
Hopscotch
Highlights
Ladybug
Odyssey
Spider
Wild Animal Baby

Many of the above are Cobblestone Publishing, but they have their own guidelines and some have theme lists.

Stacey,
Thanks for the list! I didn't really specify theme because most forums have their own genre market listings. I'll leave your list here for those who might be interested. :)

Primedia List

I write for Radio Magazine, run by Primedia. Here's a link to the entire list of trade magazines they publish (which includes links):

Primedia Resource

I can recommend them. Nice rates and good variety. If you specialize, you might want to check these out.

Any ideas?

Stacey or JD:

Do you have any market suggestion for a piece about a woman who adopted a child that grew up to be an international English teacher?

I want to start small (can't scuba dive until you learn how to blow bubbles) so I'm open to just about anything.

Everyone is so helpful here- I hope I can be an contribution some day!!

I've moved most suggestions up to the main list. Had to look up the guidelines for some of Stacey's list and add the links Torin was kind enough to look up.

Below are those I still need to find guidelines for:

Fun for Kidz
Sweet 16
Guideposts for Kids
Hopscotch
Highlights
Wild Animal Baby

Pediatrics For Parents paid for a reprint of mine.

Here's the link:
http://www.pedsforparents.com/indices/writersguidelines.shtml

I also have another huge link full of markets. I don't remember if I posted it before:

http://www.cthreepo.com/writelinks.html

I have posted the following link to lots of parenting publications but I thought I'd post it again for people who haven't seen it. Many such pubs are very open to accepting reprints. Ten of them have accepted articles from me:
