    FAQs

QUILTBAG=QUeer/QUestioning, Intersexed, Lesbian, Transgendered/Transsexual, Bisexual, Asexual/Allied, Gay (With no hierarchy implied by the order - it just arranges into a convenient acronym with a helpful mnemonic.)

Ah! I couldn't figure out what the "A" was. I had supposed it was "and."

And it's still odd to me that the word "queer" is no longer taboo.

EDIT: Forgive my ignorance, but does "Allied" mean in the sense of "friends of" or "people who don't fit into one of these others"?

Very informative article. I like the last part best. Ha-ha-ha. Heterosexual privilege. [That's a good ha-ha-ha, not a sarcastic ha-ha-ha.]

    Here:

An Ally is a person who is a member of the dominant or majority group who works to end oppression in his or her private and professional life through support of, and as an advocate for the oppressed population.
