There is a severe demarcation between e-books and self publishing. Back in the bad old days when Publish America actually was mistaken for a publisher, I could see lumping these two subjects into one forum.

Noted and understood. This section's still in flux.

I can see a sub-sub-forum.

Would that work? Would there be enough traffic?

Let me think about it a bit. It was absolutely never intended as any kind of slap, backhanded or otherwise -- it was more a matter of overlapping interests, and a Venn diagram of likely posters and whether two different rooms would actually get traffic.

Complicating matters, e-books can be self-published or subsidy-published or commercially published. sometimes in conjunction with printed editions (maybe POD and maybe offset) and sometimes not.

Yeah, that was a bit too editorial (grin), and easily corrected.

I like what Medievalist came up with.

No worries, Kerry - I didn't take it amiss, at all. E-published authors have had to fight pretty damned hard for any traction at all with the RWA, just for one example. I can see how it would be both frustrating and discouraging to think there was an implied default connection between e-pubbing and self-pubbing here, as well.

Gimme a bit, and I'll start shuffling threads around. (Assuming no one beats me to it.)

I had a solid five minutes of style-guide panic, btw, trying to figure out how we wanted to write "E-Publishing" Hyphen, or no hyphen, capital letters....
