Fireside Publications is a new-ish publisher established by Joan West and Lois Bennett, formerly of Bennett & West Literary Agency (the subject of a thread here). Bennett & West recently closed their doors.
Neither Bennett nor West appear to have had any professional publishing or agenting background before setting up their literary agency, and during their tenure as literary agents (between 2006 and 2009), most of their small number of "sales" were to a single questionable publisher. Nevertheless, Fireside is publishing a book by Joan West called An Agent Speaks, described thus: "How to avoid the marks of an amateur when submitting your manuscript. Also covers formatting, small presses, self- publishing, and hints from professionals."
