Scampi with angel hair. And a really cheap Moscato, because hubby likes cheap white wine.

Tri-tip roast, Parmesan potatoes, salad, a nice 2012 Chianti and my sour cream cheesecake for dessert at the in-laws.

Bean soup with Italian sausage. Very tasty last night, & I expect it to be better today. I made a big pot of it, so that's what's for dinner till I get tired of it & freeze what's left.

A sirloin roast with mashed potatoes, and gravy and a panfried medley of mushrooms, matchstick carrots, red pepper sautéed in butter, garlic and wine.

As an aside I've been using the hi heat method for cooking my roasts lately and I've had incredible luck with them. There are numerous instructions on line like (All Recipes) for varying degrees of doneness. I use this one;

Preheat oven to 500.

Salt and pepper a sirloin or eye of round roast, put in oven uncovered and turn temperature down to 475.

Cook 5 minutes per pound (this gives a rare roast) and then turn oven off.

Do not open the door for two hours.

Perfection.

Flautas filled with leftover (restaurant) brisket in sweet bbq sauce, and topped with salsa and a homemade curtido. Better than we thought it would be.

A vanilla ice cream sammich made with lemon cookies and with blueberries inside.
I'm thinking I should order Chinese though...

I bought some maple flavored bagels from Thomas'. I'll french toast a couple bagel halves for dinner, and maybe some yogurt with prebiotics (grated vegetables, raw).

Beef short ribs (from a local farm) braised in red wine with mustard and thyme & mirepoix, and risotto. So good!

College daughters and I did a Trader Joe's run this morning, so the kids and I are going to have a Samosa Night, which is basically a bunch of TJ's hors d'oeuvres: chicken tikka samosas, shao mi, mini hot dogs in puff pastry, chicken spring rolls, and mozzarella sticks. Usually consumed while sitting on the family room floor watching an episode of "Poirot" (with David Suchet) and drinking hard cider. It's a family thing. :)

Slow-cooked crock-pot beef stew, with potatoes, carrots, parsnip, rutabagas, parsley roots, golden and white beets, brussels sprouts, onion and beet greens. Beef marinated overnight in a honey bourbon marinade with a little added honey and squeezed orange juice.

Salmon and some ponzu sauce. I can't recall the last time I had it.
