Look up, way up. NO! The other up!
Hello! My name is Amanda and I am very happy to be here! I am an aspiring writer from Canada, looking to learn from all you lovely, knowledgable folks here at AW... I have always written, never published or submitted a thing, and only recently decided that I MUST persue a career in writing...

I am currently working on a Novel; two actually, but one is put on hold because it was not going where I wanted it to. I might get back to it at some point, but for now, it waits. The second is a YA, and I guess it would be considered fantasy at this point.

Forgive me if I ask a few silly questions during my learning period; humour me if you must. I appreciate any comments or feedback from anyone that might be helpful, so do not hesitate to lend a helpful dose of criticism; I'm not afraid! lol.

It's becoming interesting here already!

I like the artery clogging kind of popcorn, with a side of salt please; and cryings for babies. But, if I do happen to cry, I am as of yet unpublished and consequently make no money, so I will write you an IOU for when I am making some, lol. maybe you can help me get there!!!

Hi Amanda and welcome! There is a ton of information here and all of it is good for aspiring writers. It hasn't made me cry yet, but I did have to rewrite the ending to my novel - and cut a bunch out of it as it's too long.

Gordon - if you can't take critisim, you shouldn't be a writer. Just think about what agents and editors are going to do!
